Grassington, often described as a village, is more of a small town. It is one of the best loved villages in the Yorkshire Dales with its own museum showcasing history from its farming and lead-mining past set in one of the village’s cottages. Walking, pony trekking, caving, pot holing and bowling are just some of the things you can do in Grassington. Walking is especially popular as Grassington is in Wharfedale, the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. The Grassington festival takes place every year in the summer months where there are jazz musicians and classical orchestras, craft shows and workshops. As Xmas approaches the local people dress in Dickensian clothes to add that little extra to the festive season.
